Lois is a creative illustrator based in Sussex. Her artwork is inspired by storytelling and myths, and the links between the ancient and modern worlds, and created using digital and analogue methods, often combined. Her career background is in marketing, including brand, visual and written communications. In 2022 Lois graduated with distinction from University of Brighton with an MA in Sequential Design / Illustration - a course commenced during the pandemic lockdown, when she first started experimenting with making armature puppets, stop-motion film-making, and digital frame-by-frame micro-movies. As a child Lois was inspired by ventriloquist Shari Lewis, and she made appearances on a schools network TV channel with her own ventriloquism puppet, Treacle Toffee. Her favourite animations include 'Isle of Dogs', 'Coraline', retro '70's series 'The Clangers' and 'Magic Roundabout', and works by the experimental animator Kirsten Lepore - whose work brings to life food, shells and inanimate objects.
